Open Levels Modern is ideal for:
Adult dancers with prior modern dance experience (intermediate or advanced experience recommended)
Those returning to their training after a break
Dancers seeking extra weekly technique practice
Dancers who want to refine alignment, posture, and strength
Students comfortable with basic modern dance steps, including contractions and releases
New to modern, or to dance in general? Start with Basics to Isolation or Absolute Beginner Ballet to help build the foundation you need before joining this class.

Attire: Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident and allow you to move easily. Since modern classes often involve floorwork, we recommend clothes that cover your arms and legs.
Footwear: Bare feet, dance socks, or regular socks are all good options for footwear.
Bring: Please bring water!

Classes are led by rotating instructors offering a range of teaching styles and artistic perspectives, including foundations in Horton, Graham, Brown, Release, Postmodern, and Contemporary. Within the variety of perspectives, Open Levels Modern will reinforce technical foundations and provide a consistent challenge. Take your ballet practice to the next level with Open-Levels Ballet, a thoughtfully structured class for adult dancers who already have some experience with ballet fundamentals. Ballet is the foundation of nearly every dance style, enhancing posture, flexibility, balance, musicality, and overall body awareness. It also cultivates discipline, confidence, and the precision needed to excel across multiple movement forms.
Whether you’re returning to your training after a break or seeking consistent weekly technique practice, this class provides supportive instruction, individualized guidance, and structured challenges designed to help you grow as a dancer. Students who have taken Absolute Beginner Ballet regularly and are ready for a challenge are welcome to try Open Levels!

Open-Levels Ballet follows a traditional ballet format that strengthens fundamentals and expands technical skill:
Barre Work: Warm up muscles, activate alignment, and reinforce essential technique
Center Work: Practice adagio, across-the-floor progressions, turns, and jumps
Technical Precision: Build clean, strong movements while refining posture, balance, and turnout
Musicality & Artistry: Deepen expression through rhythm, phrasing, and movement quality
Advanced Fundamentals: Work with established ballet vocabulary and combinations at a measured, challenging pace
This class emphasizes precision, grace, and integrity, helping dancers move confidently both in ballet and across other dance styles.
