Thank you! We raised $1,725

Thank you to everyone who donated to HDC during the 2023 Great Community Give! We raised $1,725 AND we won an additional $1,250 prize! We surpassed our fundraising goal thanks to YOU! We cannot wait to continue to serve adult dancers in our community.
Earlynn J. Miller Fund for the Arts Recipient

The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County recently selected HDC as the inaugural recipient of the Earlynn J. Miller Fund for the Arts, in honor of the late dancer, arts advocate, and JMU professor, Earlynn J. Miller. HDC is ready to put this grant to use providing regular and sustainable dance instruction to dancers in our community, as well as continuing to provide live dance and arts experiences for audiences in our region.
With this $40,000 grant, we look forward to creating our own flexible-use dance space with specialized floors, ballet barres and mirrors and have audience seating for in-house shows. With this new space, we can continue to provide classes and performances, and lay the groundwork for expanding our training, performance and community outreach potential.
Stay connected with us by following us on Instagram and liking us on Facebook as we take you on our journey of searching for our new space and moving into a more permanent dance home. And in case you missed it, listen to the radio broadcast announcement here!

Tribute to Dr. Earlynn Miller
We are very sorry to share the passing of Earlynn Miller on Monday, April 19, 2021. Earlynn, a former dancer, teacher and performing arts enthusiast, was HDC's most generous supporter. We felt the best way to honor her legacy is through the gift of dance. Please enjoy our final performance of the 2020-2021 season in honor of Earlynn Miller and the legacy she left in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County communities.
You can read more about Earlynn in the DNR obituary and at JMU's news page.
