Help sustain a home for dance, creativity, and community in Harrisonburg

Our studio is powered by people who believe in creativity, connection, and community. If you’re excited about what we’re building, your time and talents can make a real impact. Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet fellow dancers and artists, contribute to a growing cultural space in Harrisonburg, and play an active role in shaping the future of our programs.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

  • Help us create smooth, welcoming experiences for guests during:

    • Performances

    • Workshops

    • Community gatherings

    • Fundraising events

    • First Fridays exhibitions  

    Roles can include greeting attendees, checking people in, assisting with setup/breakdown, or managing refreshments and door ticket sales.

  • Behind-the-scenes support helps keep the studio running efficiently. Volunteers may assist with:

    • Light cleaning or organizing

    • Space resets between events

    • Administrative tasks

    • Preparing materials for social media 

  • If you have expertise in an artistic or technical field, your skills are especially valuable. We welcome volunteers with experience in:

    • Photography or videography

    • Lighting or sound operation

    • Marketing and social media

    • Stage management

    • Project management

  • Help us reach more people by:

    • Sharing studio events with local groups

    • Tabling at community festivals

    • Connecting with campus organizations

    • Supporting partnerships with other arts nonprofits

    • Distributing flyers around town

Student & College Volunteers Welcome

We provide volunteer opportunities within walking distance of JMU and love working with students. Volunteering can count toward:

  • Service hours

  • Arts management experience

  • Resume and portfolio development

  • Networking within the local arts community
